This Stoneware bowl was thrown on the wheel, stamped with motifs of the sea, slipped, scratched and fired in a soda kiln at Pottery Northwest. This bowl was part of a stacked formation separated by sea shells during the firing. The shells turn to calcium dust from the heat, but leave their wonderful marks behind. A Clear glaze was used to cover the bowl. Note the Soda filling the Double Lip. This Bowl measures 8.5 inches in diameter.
