I threw this chawan on the potters wheel out of Newcomb stoneware clay.
A chunk of silt from the puget sound, affectionately deemed Vashon Blue was brought to me and I slaked it down, added some ash and rutile and used it as a slip on this piece.
It was fired upright on shells in an anagama kiln for 120 hours.
The results are pretty awesome.
