This bowl was thrown of Newcomb tile clay and slipped with FC Ball slip.
It was fired upside down on the bagwall a wood/soda kiln for 30+ hours.
The bowl is a great example of wood ash buildup and the corrosive effects of direct soda ash spray.
Note the drip on the lip.
The fire got hot enough to flux a dryish slip.
Then the soda ash spray eroded the surface of the drip.
The bowl measures 5 inches wide.
