This is a wheel-thrown, extruded, and altered piece of Welmar clay.
I love how clamlike it is from ground level, and a star from above.
It was dunked in "shino flashing slip and atomized with rutile.
Where the heavy ash meets the golden layer of flash you can see crystals have formed.
At its tallest this piece measures 5.5 inches tall and around 9 at its widest.
It is suitable as a vase.
