Woodfired Seashell Vessel

I threw this vase with NZ10 clay on the potters wheel.

While still wet i pressed molds of my favorite seashells into the body.

This piece was fired in an anagama kiln in for 120 hours.

No glaze was applied to the exterior of this vase. 

Surface effects are attributed to the ash and flame pattern caused by the wood burned for fuel.

The inside is lined with a Shino glaze.

This vase stands 8 inches tall.
