Woodfired Vase With a Face

I threw this vase with one lump of Newcomb clay on the potters wheel.

This piece was fired in an anagama kiln for 120 hours.

Surface effects are attributed to the ash and flame pattern caused by the wood burned for fuel.

The inside is lined with a Shino glaze. The foot is also dipped in Shino.

This vase stands 10.5 inches tall.
